Our Favorite Desert Style Trends

What are the elements of fashion in regards to desert style? We have been thinking a lot about what attracts someone to certain appearances and trends, which inspired us to put together a post on our favorite Desert Style fashion trends of 2019.

Desert Style Tip 1: Less is more

The desert in and of itself is minimalistic by nature, interjected with radiant beauty. We believe the most important element of desert style is to simplify. Our current obsessions are along the lines of worn jeans, old leather boots, white t-shirts, and a beautiful turquoise necklace and ring. Or a vibrant dress with simple gold jewelry. In comparison, think of the desolate high desert landscapes of the west that twice a day are lit up by the most glowing sunrise and sunset you can imagine. After spring rains, the desert comes alive with blooming cacti and wildflowers. Think of your fashion sense in the same way...minimalism with hints of radiance. We love this outfit idea from Blue Linen Boutique...

Desert Style Tip 2: Be Inspired By Nature

We believe nature has the largest impact on fashion and style inspiration. We love how it's so easy and natural to incorporate elements of nature into desert style. Our silver and turquoise rings remind us of the silver miners and Native American's who literally carved the history of the West.

Leather (or faux leather) accents are also a natural element easy to incorporate in so many ways into desert fashion. Our Camel Faux Leather Braided Belt looks great with your favorite pair of jeans or wrapped around a sweater dress...

...and we LOVE this camel faux leather Alexa bag from Bohme Boutique. The backpack design exudes adventure and road trips.

Tip 3: How to do Desert Boho

Desert Boho might be one of our favorite terms. We love the vibe of everything it suggests. Flowy, layered looks with crochet and lace detail. Earth tones. Combine textures and natural patterns. Be inspired by nature. And if you have a guitar, carry it around as often as possible. And just in case there's any confusion, here's a great How To Boho from WikiHow.

Most importantly, be authentically you

You can read all the style and fashion tips and advice but the most important bit of help we can offer is to go with what makes you happy! Be brave and try new clothing trends but if it doesn't feel right for you, throw it out. Or actually don't throw it out, donate it to a thrift shop or sell it on Poshmark. But don't force a style if it makes you unhappy. Because happiness and confidence are what are most attractive and stylish!

These are just a few ideas for incorporating the desert style vibe into your wardrobe but we would love to hear your suggestions in the comments! If you liked this article, feel free to share on your favorite social media channels, and we'd love for you to check out our Shop for more ideas and inspiration!

Thanks for reading!

Loved this article. Very inspiring and true that our environment does influence clothing trends. Lucky for those of us who actually live in the desert or high desert and can enjoy not only dressing according to those elements but immerse ourselves in them (the desert elements live in.)
